Warner Bros. confirms Mads Mikkelsen in “Fantastic Monsters”
The actor, best known for the series “Hannibal”, joined the project after the controversial departure of Johnny Depp.
The substitute is elected.
After Johnny Depp was referred to as a “bully” by the British newspaper The Sun, he tried the publication for defamation but lost the case. Shortly afterwards he was invited to give up the saga “Fantastic Monsters”, a spin-off from Harry Potter in which he played Gellert Grindelwald.
In this scenario the Warner Bros. Studio on Wednesday, November 25th, it was officially announced that Mads Mikkelsen will play the character in the next film.
The actor is known for his participation in films such as “Fresh Meat, Wanted”, “007: Casino Royale” and “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” as well as the series “Hannibal”.
The film should have premiered in November 2021, but was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic that delayed all production of the project. Thanks to that, only one scene with Johnny Depp had been recorded so he didn’t delay the project with this change. “Fantastic Monsters 3” will debut in 2022.
