There are three Portuguese who can win a Grammy this Sunday
Even “Amar aos Dois” by Luísa and Salvador Sobral is nominated, albeit indirectly. Delivery will be made this evening.

Maria Mendes in the Best Arrangements, Instrumentals and Vocals category; Producer André Allen Anjos in the Best Remixed Recording category; and DJ and producer Holly for producing eight songs from one album in the Best Dance / Electronic Album category. “Amar aos Dois” by Salvador and Luísa Sobral will also be indirectly nominated at the event, which will take place this Sunday, March 14th, in Los Angeles, USA.
The singer Maria Mendes was named after the theme “Asas Fechadas” by Amália Rodrigues, who recorded “Close to me” on the album “Close to me” with John Beasley and Metropole Orkest from Holland, which were released in October 2019. The Portuguese singer has lived in the Netherlands for more than a decade.
André Allen Anjos sees it as the third nomination, this time with a remix of the theme “Do you Ever” by Phil Good. The Portuguese, who lives in the USA and is one of the founders of the RAC (Remix Artist Collective), has already won a Grammy with a remix of the subject “Tearing me Up” by Bob Moses.
The name Holly (Miguel Oliveira) is not on the Grammy nominee list, but the Portuguese is responsible for producing eight themes from one of the albums competing for the best dance / electronic album, Planet’s Mad. from Baauer.
There’s also a Portuguese theme that incorporates one of the albums nominated for a Grammy for Best Visual Media Soundtrack Compilation. “Amar aos Dois”, a theme composed by Luísa Sobral and sung by her brother Salvador Sobral, is part of the soundtrack of the film “Eurovisão da Canção: A História dos Fire Saga”.
