The actor will play Toxic Avenger in the remake of an unusual classic.
Actor has new movie on the way.
Over the past decade and a half, superhero films have become the most profitable sub-genre in Hollywood. As more and more suggestions and audiences discover them, there is also room for new projects, including some that promise quality parodies.
Such is the case with the new project that is being worked on: the remake of “The Toxic Avenger”, a 1984 film that became an unexpected success and paved the way for several sequels paved. The original film is a creation of Troma, a producer who is used to making films with black and eschatological humor that could be described as a category of so bad is good.
“Toxic Avenger” became the production company’s best-known film. It told the story of a banal, educated man who was unlucky enough to fall into a toxic waste bin. The incident left him disfigured and paved the way for him to become a superhero named Toxie, who was dedicated to the fight against the bad guys.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, it will be Peter Dinklage who plays the short and talented actor who gave birth to Tyrion Lannister in “Game of Thrones”. Unlike the original production on a very limited budget, as was common with Troma, this new remake will be a parody of other types of scrolls.
Macon Blair, a director who was already recognized at the Sundance Film Festival, will write and run a project that promises the same subversive spirit of the superhero world that we find in “Deadpool”, for example.
