Number of small arms licenses in Germany up | Free press

A survey by the Ministries of the Interior shows that the increase in licenses for small arms is continuing. Authorities have issued tens of thousands of new bills.

Berlin (dpa) – According to a report, the number of small arms licenses in Germany has risen again.

There was an increase of about 40,000 or six percent to over 704,000, the “Rheinische Post” reports, citing a survey of the interior ministries of the federal states. The license for the small firearm is a condition for being allowed to carry so-called blank, irritating and signal weapons in public. Without this, you can basically keep and buy them. The number of licenses for small arms has been increasing for years.

The police union (GdP) warned the newspaper that external firearms can hardly be distinguished from real firearms. Police officers should assume it was a real firearm, GdP Deputy Chairman Dietmar Schilff told the paper.
