Multiple corona cases at Trump’s private club Mar-a-Lago | Free press

Former US President Donald Trump had repeatedly downplayed or denied the danger of the coronavirus. Now his Florida club resort has to close parts of the facility.

Palm Beach (AP) – The Mar-a-Lago club resort in Florida, the retreat of ex-US President Donald Trump, has closed parts of the facility due to several corona cases in the workforce. The American media reported this, citing a circular from the management to club members on Friday.

After leaving the White House, Trump retired to the luxurious Palm Beach property.

As some employees recently tested positive for the virus, the beach club and upscale dining room have been temporarily closed, according to the messages in the email. However, banquets and events are still possible. Information on the number of infected workers now in quarantine was not provided. Several dozen workers work in Mar-a-Lago during the winter season, according to the Washington Post. The Trump organization had confirmed the partial closure of the factory in a statement to the newspaper, describing it as a “precautionary measure.”

Trump first denied the danger of the coronavirus at the start of the pandemic, then for a long time downplayed it, eventually falling ill himself with Covid-19 in the fall of last year. In addition, the 74-year-old made it clear to the last that he found wearing masks rather annoying.

Palm Beach’s infection control regulations require guests at the luxury resort of Mar-a-Lago to wear a face mask at all times, except during meals and drinks. However, there were two big fundraising events this past weekend, according to the Washington Post. Trump was with one of them and, like most guests, was not wearing mouth and nose protection, according to photos.
