Lambrecht: Measures will no longer apply to vaccinated people | Free press

Vaccinated, recovered and tested people can hope for relief from the corona pandemic. This is now announced by Minister Lambrecht of Justice in the Bundestag.

Berlin (dpa) – Exit and contact restrictions due to Corona will no longer apply to those who have been fully vaccinated and to people who have recovered from Covid-19 in Germany in the future.

For example, people in nursing homes now have to eat alone in their room for a long time and can eat in the dining room again in the future or that brothers and sisters can visit their mothers together on Mother’s Day. This is what Minister of Justice Christine Lambrecht (SPD) said on Thursday during the discussion of a corresponding regulation in the Bundestag.

According to the Bundestag, the Bundesrat wants to approve the ordinance next Friday. So the relief could kick in on weekends.

Lambrecht was referring to the Federal Constitutional Court, which had rejected urgent applications against nighttime exit restrictions in the course of the Corona emergency brake the day before. She said fundamental rights can be restricted to protect life and health and ensure the functioning of the health system. However, the restrictions should also be lifted – “when this good reason ceases to exist”. Those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered can only put others at risk to a much lesser extent.

The Minister of Justice also stressed that the pandemic should be further combated. “We all need to work very hard so that these steps to normalcy will soon apply not only to those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered, but that we will all work our way back to this long-awaited normalcy.”
