Clink: A new cultural space has been born in Porto’s famous arts district

It is a project that aims to connect people and promote artistic events related to architecture and design.

The terrace promises to be one of the highlights.

The famous art district of Porto around Rua de Miguel Bombarda has a new cultural space. It’s called Clink and it opened on May 8th at 84 Rua do Rosário. It is a project that aims to connect people and promote artistic events in the fields of architecture and design.

As those in charge of NiT explain, the aim is to “privilege the exchange of creative experiences, promote artistic manifestations and promote national design and creativity through shop, showroom and cultural events”.

Clink presents itself as a cultural, social and economic organization that aims to connect artists, designers, craftsmen, brands and industry in general. It was founded by creative entrepreneurs Paulo André and Le Brimet.

The room is over 400 square meters and has a gallery area in which exhibitions of architecture, photography, illustration, design or artistic installations can be shown. This area of the clink is called the stretch box.

Then there is a showroom for national product design and lighting brands. Meeting and training rooms; a multimedia room with rooms for video and digital art; a cowork space called Coolab; a design store, ClinkStore; and the headquarters of the Spectroom studio, which is responsible for Clink’s cultural management and communications. Outside the room there is a 150 square meter terrace on which temporary artistic installations also take place.

Clink will also produce a number of initiatives related to the arts. There will be Clink Into, an intimate podcast by the artists Susana Chasse and Le Brimet, which will lead informal conversations about “the art of living and creating”.

This is the showroom.

There will also be Clink Docs, a series of documentaries on art and design by João Filipe Silva. The Clink Music Sessions, dedicated to emerging Portuguese music, are curated by musician and architect Marcus Amadeus.

Clink Artboard, curated by Susana Chasse, promotes painting, illustration, photography and national drawing. The program also includes film sessions organized by curator Sofia Mourato (from the Arquitectura Film Festival) that focus on documentary productions related to architecture, art and design.

Until July 30th you can visit Stretch Box with a retrospective exhibition by designer Toni Grilo “From design art to art of design”. Discover an exhibition by Susana Chasse entitled “[ OO ] * # 01 ”, which explores the common universe between drawing, writing and painting.

“Clink creates a creative network in which brands, designers, artists, musicians and dreamers break established behavior, cultivate different experiences and challenge new emotions,” add those responsible for the new space.
