“Bem Bom”: There is already a premiere date for the film about Doce
Carolina Carvalho, Bárbara Branco, Lia Carvalho and Ana Marta Ferreira will play the singers of the band.
The film will tell the story of Doce.
After the success of “Variações” in 2019, “Bem Bom” was the most anticipated musical biopic of the past year in Portugal. Due to the pandemic, however, production had to be gradually postponed throughout Doce’s history. However, there is a new date: it hits theaters on July 8th.
The main focus is on the career of Doce, a girls band from the 80s that achieved success with hits like “Tomorrow Morning”, “Hot, Hot, Hot” and the song that gave this project its title. “1979. Four young people are hired to start a girls band. They can sing, they shine and dance and scandalize the country … They become a phenomenon of popularity. They are the doce,” the summary reads .
“Bem Bom” is directed by Patrícia Sequeira and produced by Santa Rita Filmes. It was written by Filipa Martins, Cucha Carvalheiro and Helena Matos. The quartet is formed by Carolina Carvalho (Helena Coelho), Bárbara Branco (Fátima Padinha), Lia Carvalho (Teresa Miguel) and Ana Marta Ferreira (Laura Diogo).
