“Under the leadership of the Portuguese Fernão de Magalhães, 239 sailors left Sanlúcar de Barrameda on August 20, 1519. Three years later, only 18 hungry and weakened sailors returned on the only ship that resisted the voyage, led by the Spanish sailor Juan Sebastián Elcano “describes the summary of the project.
“14,460 leagues always traveled from west to east to complete the world tour. An almost impossible mission aimed at finding a new route to the “Spice Island” that ultimately changed human history by demonstrating that the earth is round. An achievement that forever changed trade, economy, astrology and knowledge of the planet and is considered one of the greatest achievements in history, ”he adds.
“To recreate the great voyage, the ships Victoria and Trinidad will be rebuilt and the replica of the Nau Victoria will be used, the only one of the five ships of the expedition that returned to port and therefore the first ship to go around the world”, says Amazon Prime Video.
The cast also includes Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Adrián Lastra, Carlos Cuevas, Pepón Nieto, Raúl Tejón, the Portuguese Gonçalo Diniz, Manuel Morón and Bárbara Goenaga. “Sem Limites” is directed by the British Simon West, who is known for directing films such as “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider”, “Con Air: Fortaleza Voadora”, “The General’s Daughter” and “The Expendables 2”.
