This Tuesday, November 24th, the Grammy nominees, the biggest awards in the American music industry, were announced. The winners will be announced on January 31st, and this year female artists predominate in the nominations.
Beyoncé tops the list with nine nominations – and she didn’t even have to release an album to take that spot. The American singer competes for the awards “Song of the Year”, “Record of the Year”, “Best Rap Song” and “Best R & B Performance”.
Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa and Roddy Ricch appear second on this list, with six nominations each. The biggest surprises came because The Weeknd and Bob Dylan’s new albums didn’t get any nominations.
There is also a Portuguese singer named. Maria Mendes is competing for the Grammy for the best arrangements, instrumentals and vocals with the theme “Asas Fechadas” by Amália Rodrigues, who recorded “Close to Me” with John Beasley and Metropole Orkest from Holland. It was the same song that got them to be nominated for a Latin Grammy that they didn’t win.
Trevor Noah will present the award ceremony. Take a look at the list of nominees from the main categories.
