A play by Jessica Athayde and Anabela Moreira can be seen at the Teatro da Trindade

“A Iguana Viúva” will accompany the love full of ups and downs between two women whose names we never know.

The Teatro da Trindade in Lisbon has already unveiled the program for the new season beginning September 1st with well-known pieces such as the musical “Chicago”; and some premieres like “Hour of Visit” and “A Iguana Viúva”.

Directed by Cláudia Lucas Chéu and interpreted by Anabela Moreira and Jessica Athayde, “A Iguana Viúva” tells a love story between two women whose names we never know in the first person singular. The relationship between the two is characterized by the hatred, indifference and diversity of feelings that the two show. Personal doubts and fears, family and social prejudices also play a major role in this relationship.

The piece also wants to answer three questions: “Love died and not in twos. And then? “;” How do we see others and how do we see ourselves? “And” How do you live without someone you once loved most? “.

“A Iguana Viúva” was the winning text in the third edition of the Miguel Rovisco Award in the New Theater Texts category. The piece, signed by Raquel Serejo Martins, will be on view from Wednesday to Sunday from 7 p.m. between February 3 and March 20, 2022. The ticket costs € 12. However, if you go to the Teatro da Trindade on Wednesday you only have to pay € 9.
